An another note, today starts my last four days living at Gordon College, with one final down (not exactly sure it went well) and two to go! These past couple weeks have been filled with a lot of mixed emotions with trying to get paperwork done for Uganda, keeping up with school work, and wanting to spend time with friends knowing that I wont have that opportunity for awhile. The beginning of last week started off with me dreading going abroad but I am getting more ready and excited with everyday! I can't believe this is actually happening because this is something I have been hypothetically planning since the end of my junior year in high school. I still dont think it has fully hit me yet, and probably wont until I step off the plane in Entebbe and I'm hit with the 70 degree warmth and sunshine as well as immediately sticking out like a sore thumb.
Agenda for the next few weeks:
- 12.15 - Leadership final and Principles of Management Final
- last girls group for at least 4 months :(
- 12.16 - leave Gordon hopefully by noonish, and have the afternoon to unpack and relax at home with Logan and my family
- 12.17 - get to Logan airport by 4:30am to jet set cross country and meet up with my best friend and greatest traveling companion Risa Tillman. Cali here we come!
- 12.21 - fly home from my california mini adventure with just enough time to prep for Christmas
- 12.24 - annual Christmas Eve party at our house with beautiful new front steps (good job daddy) and real candles on the tree
- 12.15 - CHRISTMAS DAY! (praying for snow)
- 12.28 - Logan comes to spend time for my last week
- 12.31 - annual new year's eve party at the cape house with family and Sinter Klaas
- 1.5.11 - I leave Logan airport on a 6am flight for Uganda (stops in Chicago, DC (Dulles), and Amsterdam along the way)
Time until Uganda Life: 23 days and counting
Prayer Requests: safety and the ability to bond with the family I will be living with...and nerves. :)
